Homophobic Homosexuals

After doing the Gay for Pay episode, Tyra Banks brings in the controversy once more and featured homophobic homosexuals on the show. Yes, she invited openly gay individuals to talk about their likewise very open disgust on homosexuality. Confusing, yes I know, but very real. Not only on Tyra but even here in the Philippines. One needs only to follow some of the local gay blogs to see the same issues and themes in Tyra recur The Episode Tyra's guests are: 1. Shane -19 and gives himself until the age of 30 to turn straight 2. Tia and Skylar - Tia is Shane's ex-GF and now best friend and roomate. Skylar is shane's ex-BF who is now Tia's object of affection (they lead REALLY complicated lives) 3. Greg - a small town kid who feared gays 4. Elian and Katy - married BUT Elian remains gay and Katie accepts this and EVEN allows for threesomes 5. Marc - is one HOTT stud. I feel like he's got no major issues on homosexuality just his dad who forces him to go to ex-gay ministr...

Garapal na Gay Indie Films?

Let me share with you an email addressed to Prof. Danton Remoto , Chairman of Ang ladlad. Thus, being an integral part of this society, I want to know your side, too. Please read. When "Sagwan" was shown two weeks ago, many of the viewers, complained not mainly because of the sex scenes but because it is its director, himself, who played as gay customer twice in the movie and who performed on screen oral sex on at least three of the budding actors. The viewers are crying exploitation. They say he used his power as director to molest the aspiring actors, and even had the guts to put the abuse on film. Another gay-themed movie is coming out next week entitled "Booking". Publicity shots of this film include that of a young boy completely naked. The write-ups say that he is Charles Delgado who will play a 16 year old callboy and will have a frontal nudity shot in the...

Wowowee... Gay... Equality...

"Okay lang 'yan. Karapatan n'yo yan. Kung san kayo masaya, buhay nyo yan. Sila ay may sariling kaligayahan at may sariling desisyon." When I was browsing youtube earlier I bumped into this video about an OFW contestant who played in the Bigatin portion of "Wowowee" (ABS-CBN) hosted by Willie Revillame which was aired last January 30, 2009. I was so kilig while watching the clip. Not just because the story of Red and Wilmer was really inspiring but also because you can see the atmosphere in the studio that's so very light and they really understand what's going on. I was so releived that these guys were treated right not only by Willie but also by everyone. There was no sign of discrimination and everybody respected their relationship. Just like what Willie said--- "show the world!". The future is uncertain but I can say that the future that we all dream where "we" are not different is not that far.

Dear Becky: I'm Gay, but Girls Like Me

Dear Becky, I know this is quite a weird problem. You see, I'm gay and I haven't been successful in having a boyfriend. However, I have been encountering girls and they have expressed they like me but I only look at them as just friends. It started back in high school. I had a female friend whom I have been buddies with since Grade 3, and even back then she knew I was gay. But during our high school years she tried to flirt with me. I didn't get aroused or anything, I thought it was her "adolescence" acting up. Then during our college years, when we haven't been seeing each other personally, she told me over the phone that she liked me. I was shocked, but I told her that she is like a sister to me. I thought I broke her heart, but what can I do? I cannot pretend to be straight. During college, I also met some female friends who have expressed their liking for me. First was a Filipino-Chinese who even sent a note to me with lyrics of "When I Fall...

PINOY GAY ROLE MODELS

DO WE NEED ONE? For the young gay guys who know who they are and know what they want, maybe charing lang (not really)! But when you grow up, there would be a time when you look for successful people out there - who inspires you, whom you'd like to imitate or idolize, and maybe pattern your life with. And being gay, it is perfectly normal to look for positive gay role models, and not just Gloria, Margie or Ruffa. So we need gay heroes of our times (not like Zsa Zsa Zathurna!) The questions are - Do we have one? Or do we have enough to choose from? Do we even have positive gay role models in the media, public office, television, or in various fields of profession? Those who have success stories and worthy of emulation? But of course, meron naman! There would be heaps, it is just we don't know them or they don't want to be known as gays! And so we have the prominent Renee Salud, Ricky Reyes, Boy Abunda, who are openly gay and successful in their fields. But do all gay guys wan...
