Reminder on New Contributors (a must-read)

I would personally would like to greet the new members of Rainbow Bloggers Philippines and we hope you enjoy your stay here. We also would like to remind the new contributors to this blog of the following:

1) LABELS - Rainbow Bloggers Philippines strictly uses seven labels, each representing an aspect of the gay community: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, and Violet. Refer to "The Rainbow Colors" on the sidebar for more information.

2) POST ORIGINAL CONTENT ONLY - We encourage all our contributors to post original articles in this blog. There have been some members (yes, including I) who have posted articles that were already posted in our respective blogs, but that would not coincide with this group's real aim: to unite all Filipino gay bloggers and inspire them to pursue an inner motivation for blogging.

If you are posting news reports, we encourage the contributors to rewrite the article and acknowledge the source. This is to prevent potential copyright violations.

3) SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS - We encourage all members to comment on the posts as this is our way to get to know each other more. While we do not have a forum, we will consider having an discussion board in the near future.

Happy posting!

PHILIPPINES: 'A Nation of Servants' - HK Journalist

Do we deserve this? The war at home by Chip Tsao HK Magazine The Russians sank a Hong Kong freighter last month, killing the seven Chinese seamen on board. We can live with that—Lenin and Stalin were once the ideological mentors of all Chinese people. The Japanese planted a flag on Diàoyú Island. That’s no big problem—we Hong Kong Chinese love Japanese cartoons, Hello Kitty, and shopping in Shinjuku, let alone our round-the-clock obsession with karaoke. But hold on—even the Filipinos? Manila has just claimed sovereignty over the scattered rocks in the South China Sea called the Spratly Islands, complete with a blatant threat from its congress to send gunboats to the South China Sea to defend the islands from China if necessary. This is beyond reproach. The reason: there are more than 130,000 Filipina maids working as $3,580-a-month cheap labor in Hong Kong. As a nation of servants, you don’t flex your muscles at your master, from whom you earn most of your bread and butter. As a pat
